About Me
Some of my ancestors, John Cody, Sr. and Margaret Croak Cody lived in Drangan before emigrating to America. My great-great grandfather John Cody, Sr. was born in County Kilkenny, and my great-great grandmother Margaret Croak Cody was born in Rathkenny, County Tipperary. Their oldest child was my great-grandfather, Michael Cody, Sr., born in Drangan in 1833. The Codys lived on a little farm on the road between Drangan and Cloneen. Before they came to America, they moved off the farm and resided at a place in Drangan known as the dairy keepers house. When the Codys emigrated from Ireland, around 1851, they soon settled in Dover Township, New Dover, Union County, Ohio. Michael Cody, Sr. met his wife in America, and married Anastasia Powers, a native of County Waterford. They had 12 children. My brother John and I visited Ireland in April 2005, and stayed with our cousin, Matt Murphy, his wife, Margaret and family in Corbally. We hope to visit again soon. The next time, i will bring my wife, Kim, and daughter, Deidre. I am a lawyer in Columbus, practicing employee-side labor law. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text.
